New coral. Yay!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The left toadstool has all its tentacles out now, but the one on the right only has a few out at a time. I have lots of live rock, so I'll stack it up differently and put my coral on them.

I change 20% of the water twice a week. In fact I just did my water change on Thursday; my next one is supposed to happen tomorrow. The water only looks that way because I hadn't cleaned the glass yet at that point (most of the stuff is outside).

I'll look around for a maxi jet and some pure chem. Thanks for the suggestions.

maxi jets are very powerful, and quiet, and inexpensive. you could also use a bag of chem pure in your filtration, that would help maintain your water quality.
I got a peppermint shrimp at the LFS. It was the last one, but they get more on Sunday. It hasn't eaten the aiptasia yet; I guess it's still adjusting.

I stacked my rocks differently, and put the coral on top, less than five inches from the surface, no direct flow, but it started to look really saggy where I put it. I moved it back and it looks better. Was it too high? How should I be moving it? I guess a little at a time so it can adjust to the new light intensity.

About the chemipure: I ordered some online, but it's not available locally. I already do regular water changes, but is there a product that will do something similar to chemipure I can get for the meantime?

i just recently had a outbreak of them its horrible there everywhere went out bought a racoon bf tang bullyed it till it died so i tryed a copperband yellow tang once again bullyed it till it died :( so i went out and bought a peppermint shrimp hasnt even touched it :( now im thinking bout buying a chemical but will this kill my condy? even tho my shrimps just about killed the condy i wouldnt want to kill him...but i wouldnt panice cus theres two on the side of my frogspawn and they rub up every now n then and there hasnt bin any damage thank god but i have to get rid of them any suggestions insted of doing it manually because theres too many lol

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. Give the peppermint shrimp a chance. Mine took about a week, now he's eaten all but one of my aiptasia.

Turns up my problem with my corals may have been caused by a rogue starfish. I caught it today on my LAST yellow polyp. The polyps had been disappearing and I didn't know why.

Thanks to everyone who helped out in this thread.
