New Corvette Revealed!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was thinking the same thing! Not necessarily a bad thing. The real question is will it handle like a Ferrari, and have the same quality parts?

No. The answer is no.

No. The answer is no.

I had a feeling so. You think the higher end models, like the ZR-1, would use better materials to go along with the higher cost. Putting high performance parts in a vehicle with a flimsy shell has never made sense to me. Things start falling off by themselves from the stress.

Corvette was never a high end brand compared to things like Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati and Pagani. At least it was light from all the plastic.

True but what materials do those companies use for their car bodies?

In the case of Pagani, carbotanium which is a blend of carbon fiber and titanium. They're a bit obsessive. Pretty much every "supercar" maker uses carbon fiber.

Quality won't be the same as some mentioned, lots of the more exotics have hand built over assembly line making sure each piece fits exactly into place/smoother body lines.
Interesting sidenote, AMG line on Mercedes states "one man, one engine". Meaning each one is completely assembled by only one person. Pop the hood, and the name of who hand assembled that engine will be stamped on a plaque.

That said, the corvette is still a bargain for what it is performance wise.

...Interesting the GT40 and GT was mentioned here. The car stood 40 inches from the ground hence the 40 name, but it was never trademarked so the number aspect was dropped when it was brought back to life.

And forget the ford raptor or the bronco, you want a good looking truck get the late 80's through mid 90's f150-f350 with the centurion conversion or four door broncos as they are called. You will probably have issues with rust and the roof and everything the entire ownership of the Frankensuv and such but man are they nice to look at.

Obsessive is putting it lightly with Pagani. That man is crazed to the point of perfection with weight balance and reduction.

I saw a race model GT40 earlier this month at an exotic car dealer in Spain. I found the roof bump for the driver's head quite funny. Yes, race model for sale/rent. It's legal to drive on the roads over there.

What does this Pagani look like? I don't recall seeing a photo of one.

There's the Pagani Zonda;

And the Huayra;

Completely different price range from the Vette, and way stranger looking. I do have to admit that the Zonda is much prettier in person. I thought it was ugly in pictures, but then you see the amount of detail put into each individual vehicle.
