I've used bleach/water mixtures in the past with great success...then just overdose with prime or something to suck all the chlorine out. It helps sanitize the tanks and break down some of the gunk on them. You can then hit them with a tool like the one above.

ohh CLR!!! soo fast ... splash a little in .. swirl it around .. its like a brand new tank ..!!!! rinse rinse rinse and ready to go ...
yea .. i have not even been thru the boxes and boxes of extra crap .. just the 75's with stands and lights with the 50 breeder is well worth it IMO..
cleaning the tanks now .. going to take a few weeks since i have lots of other stuff going on .. but it will get done lol
