new crayfish

You sure the two species are compatible? Which species are they?

P. alleni and P. clarkii are compatible if they have enough cover to hide away from each other... I would use a 40l or 55. They should have a large enough foot print to roam around. Watch them closely when molting as they can be eaten at this time by the others with no way to defend themselves and being very weak from molting..

It'll depend on the species. If one is more aggressive than the other, even a large tank will result in scuffles. And if you have an aggressive species that actively hunts, the other one may become a meal.

Additionally, if you have a species from one continent and one from another, you can't mix them due to the potential spread of certain diseases, parasites, etc.

You should have them IDed first, then go about figuring out what to do.

Are u sure about that? I forgotten where I read something on the internet about crayfish releasing certain chemical in the water which is an aggression signal and often it ends up badly

I have Pclarki,Palleni, cherax, selfcloners and a few feeder crays in a 55 with very little agggression. Theres alot of hiding places and plenty of food.

My white cray is a P. Clarki as u told me. From what I observe, it is very agressive. Fast reaction on feeder fish, no hesitation on cannibalism & pure destruction. It has killed off all the other tank mates leaving 1 alive but injured.
