I believe I bought a baby Datnoid at my lfs today. They called it a Golden Tiger Fish, and he was 40%, so I bought him. I was wondering what is the best thing to try and feed him is and what kind of structure, plants, rocks, etc, should be put in with him, thanks.

try feeding worms, prawn or if nothing else a small feeder to get him to eat.
structure should be some wood and plants..they are ambush predators so they like to surprise they're prey

A good food to feed that the tiger will def eat is thawed froz krill..That's a good start to getting it off of live feeders..After that u can go with shrimp, krill, bw, tilapia fillet, and pellets...The pellets are difficult to get the tigers to eat tho..It takes a lot of patience.
To this day my tigers will only eat Hikari foodsticks..They will not touch any other type of pellet..
Good luck

7.0-8.0, I just read that somewhere. How would I go about testing the hardness of my water and changing that?
