just started stocking and thought i would share a picture with the datnoid section ,
i have 2 x at's and they share a tank peacefully with 4 columbian shark catfish

ok ,, so one is hiding peacefully lol,

i think he is looking amongst the bits that collect on the base to see if there is anything to eat , thats the feeding corner

they are only about one and a half inches ,, and still trying to get some decent pics ,, i have been spending loads of time in front of the tank to get them used to a busy environment , and will furnish the tank over the next week ,, not sure if to go with a sand or pebble base ,??????any suggestions , ??
also i am hoping that my lfs will have 2 more in their next delivery with my name on ,
can i ask if anyone can give me an idea of growth rate as its unclear on google etc ,, ie inches per year etc ,,
i have my temperature at 27c and am feeding bloodworm at the moment ,, i hope to introduce some salt to the water a little each week and bring the level up to brackish as they were in fw before i got them ,,

Nice Dats Jason

Nice AT's. Personally I like sand.. but I think its different for everyone

I have 5 AT's I have had for several months(6-7). I got them all under 1 inch. The biggest one is 2.5"-3" and very dominant. I still have 1 that is less than an inch. He has hardly grown. They all eat the same amount, the bigger ones get earthworms now and it seems to have increased their growth even more.

i will have to try the worms when they get a bit bigger , cheers, they are warming to me more each day ,, they come to the front glass now when i walk in the room ,, so i am glad i have not got some that are too shy , as i hear they are pretty hard to crack ,

I use both sand and gravel. Different types too. Upon reflection I like the ease of waste removal on sand but not much else. I think I prefer gravel. The one exception to the thought is that I really like the Flourite black sand which is mainly for foliage.
