New Dats !

You could grow them out to this size from small ones in a year with a good diet and frequent water changes. Ive had 5 inch dats last year that are now 9 inches.
I consider this fast as Dats are notorious as slow growers.

Nice. What can you sell them for at the 9-10" range? I ask because there is a pet store here selling 3" ones for 24 bucks and I think they do a 3 for 59.99 deal.
9-10 Widebars are usually 400 and up. First make sure what kind of datnoid it is.
There are several kinds. Theres the NGT ( most expensive ,rarest ) widebar ( the one pictured above ) , Indonesian Dats ( looks similar to widebar but bar patterns are somewhat different and color are more varied ), Thinbars( as the name suggests, thinner , finer bars ) and Silvers (usually brackish).
But for 59.99 for 3, i would say go for it no matter what kind of dat it is.

Its merely a suggestion . You can always say "No friggin way " but things
happen to datnoids you know.. They can drown while asleep , they can be accidentally eaten by feeder comets , etc.. Consider the temensis " insurance".

This guys about 8-9 .Yummy.. love this Dat. So much that i broke my promise of not buying fish this month .
A good 6-7 incher. Very thin but ate 5 pcs of cut up shrimp just now. Its gonna be a fatty soon.
