so i got 4 new adult discus last week and i havent seen them eat at all. ive try brine shrimp ive try sinking shrimp pellets ive try frozen. should i be concern or should i give them more time? water are in great condition with 80-90% change 2x a week.

temp is at 86.8 and theyre in the qt right now and also i did the drip method.

where did you buy them? if they were shipped to you, don't feed them for 2 days and no lights. and if they're from LFS, did you see them eat?

They're adjusting to new enviroment, sometime they're shy a little bit. Light also effect them a little. how long do you keep lights on, i would suggest no to turn it on or turn it side down up or dim it. They try to feed them live blackworms.

Also, what is your water source? Well? Public? Often, (especially in a public water source) the Ph will undergo a significant shift in Ph once it is out of the tap and in the tank. That is why most discus keepers age the water that they use for their fish. Is your water aged? if not, I would get a test of it from the tap, and leave some out for 48 hours and see if there is a shift.

Another thing to consider.....is this a bare bottomed tank? if so are the back, sides, and bottom blocked or painted?

i bought it from a local hobbyist and they were eating before the move the lights are on 8-10 hrs a day and when i feed i feed with lights out the tap water and tank water matches in ph and its a bare bottome tank with 3 sides painted i didnt feed them the first day but after that they just dont eat. i was thinking theyre not use to the tank/stress from the move but when kenny got his shipment and was able to get them to eat in qt i started to worry

also mkd i order six from him i should get it sometime this week. waiting for paypal to clear cant wait =p

What were they eating before you bought them? But try everyting, beefheart and flake food if you havent yet. Water Temp should be at 84dgs throughout their lifetime............

Ok you got them from local hobbyist, is he mainly keeping discus or everything in main tank? I would ask him if those discus were treated worms. If not, it's better to treat them now when they're in qt tank. 8-10 hrs is kinda long to me for new fish. I would dim the light or turn it up if you have an option. also check the water paremeter to be sure it's full cycled.
Pic would be great.

i know how you feel about waiting new fish arrival, day is getting long :)
