yup or the chickens that they grow for our food, the poor things grow so fast their skeletons can't keep up and they end up not even being able to hold up their own weight.Aquanero;4151988; said:I just want to point out that super excelerated growth isn't always best for the fish in the long run and can lead to some pretty unsightly deformities later in adulthood. Power feeding high proteen diets will get fish big fast but can do damage down the road, so be cautious. Like those threads about my fish grew 8" in 5 mins. This is not that different than giant breed dogs that have skeletel issues from being feed the wrong diet as a pup.
i say go ahead and raise the temp a couple degrees and feed healthy foods like worms, crickets, raw shrimp etc a couple times a week, but for the most part just keep water super clean and feed good quality pellet 3x a day, i would stay away from feeding mammal meat like beef heart too often, i never feed this but if you do then i wouldn't do it more than once every 2 weeks (it dirties your water up super quick too). if you feed the other stuff they will grow like weeds anyways so its not really necessary GOOD LUCK with your new fry, they will be monsters in no time
