New dwarf puffers

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Congrats on the puffers, in my opinion, theyre one of the most interesting fish in the hobby.

Breeding from what ive read, requires a lot of kava moss or spawning mops, which they will use to deposit their eggs in.

You need mature fish first though, yours have a ways to go =]

What are you feeding them? I raise snails for mine. Watching them stalk and attack is one of the best parts of keeping them.

You can add some ottos in there... and some people even have luck housing Cherry Red Shrimps with their Dwarf Puffers...

They are just a small cat fish / algae eater that grow to about 2"

Scientific Name : Otocinclus vestitus

Not sure how big your tank is so cant give you an exact number...

But i'd say roughly 2-3 should be okay judging by the video

Did you find those articles? I hate to ask but was the tank cycled? That's a lot of puffers to add at one time. Fantastic price though, they're 44 here.

My spoiled brat will only eat live blackworms. He will kill ANY other puffer I add to his tank--even other DPs. He's killed all but 1 oto & all the Viet. kuli loaches. :( A real loner...
