I bought the beef heart because my breeder used it but am in the process of switching to NLS. I see your exact point. I'd also never feed blood worms. I lost one a couple years ago after I fed bloodworms 2 or 3 days in a row. I also use a UV. I was kind if surprised when the breeder said beef heart is all he feeds.

Blood worms are a natural part of most SA cichlid diets, but I have heard many people say that feeding it exclusively has led to dietary or gastro-intestinal issues that can be lethal. I only feed it once every 3-4 days.

in a 30x12x12 tank, Do you think I can get this lil jd to around 3-4" I was planning on keeping him and a small irwini in there for clean up duty. Maybe a few cories. Bare Bottom, with a dim light. I'm going to slide this under my 90's stand and make a cut out
