Checked my minnow trap today - found an awesome 7 or 8 inch American (Or European?) Eel in it with many, many small red/green crabs and a single stickleback.

The fish came home with me. They were in a brackish estuary type setting in northern Mass. The eel is greenish.

I'm wondering how to tell the two eels apart, and which it is most likely to be?

Going to pop him in freshwater and see how he does. Anyone else do this before?
If any of you have a burning desire to have one - let me know!

Post a pic!

NO PICS!!! BOOOOOOOOO

haha...

should be fine in fresh water...just add some aquarium salt...about 1tbsp per 3 gallons...(usually per 5, but since hes comin outta a brackish, better give him more)

Honestly? I don't wanna worry about it. If he does well, great, if not.... I'll be sad.

Somebody, ANYBODY!!!!!

PLEASE SAVE ME - This laptop-camera is .... let's just say it's best for OTHER THINGS! SOMEBODY - ANYBODY who has a spare/used digital camera that you no longer use, could I take it on an extended loan? I cringe at my own photos!

Here are the eel (kinda!) only 6 or 7 inches, now that I look at him, and the stickleback.
