maybe some of these peeps have had problems with them killing fish but i sure havent. i had 2 large blues and one died so i mixed in creek crays and my blue got pregnant but ate all the eggs . i still have her and bought another blue as well . unless u have some extremely slow fish and are half brain dead then i dont see them killing your fish. imo
ditto. It also largely depends on the specific crayfish. They have a lot of individual personality.
My old brown craw wouldn't even eat my ghost shrimp? My blue one now has killed 3 mystery snails so far, but i've never had a problem with them eating fish, unless they're dead lol. I've kept crawfish with Mollies, Tiger barbs, giant barbs, zebra danios and octi catfish.
I usually feed it generic crab/bottom feeder pellets and put some kind of veggie in once a week, usually what ever is going bad in the fridge that no one wants to eat, lol. Tomatoes, Cherries, carrots, cucumber, lettus, he likes it all.
But yeah, they DEVOUR live plants, even my big 8'' swords were chopped to peices by a 4'' cray.
I've also heard that crawfish aren't entirely aquatic and need to breath air once in a while. Bubble srips work fine. I've also been told this isn't true, but my brown craw died a day after my air pump broke..... not sure if its a coincidence (sp)... but be aware.
