Lol Didnt mean Endi I ment my first bichir. They are rather strange creatures, its seems whenever I laydown next to the tank he comes to investigate me. Then I see his little head pop up and I start laughing.

How do you like bichirs? I'm about to attempt to start keeping them lol do you ever get board.

You should pick one up Runitis. Spencer still has quite a few. I should be finally getting my teugelsi as well. We're putting in another order today. :)

I know I should but for some reason the size and largeness of the ones I've seen intimidate me :s I don't have the tank atm for a 20" (even though there not) but the potential size just steers me clear... Even though I have an ornate and a tueg he he. But the ornate is super slow grower for me! Nice those teugs are going fast mine was on NLS the second day now as soon as I drop them in he starts to get excited and search!

Best bet is to keep them with more active fish. That way you'll have something to look at when the bichirs aren't out and about.

karaig, I've been keeping bichirs as my primary fish for over 15 years. My oldest has been with me got 13. That should be pretty telling on my thoughts on them. :)

lix, it's from Spencer. I don't really have any rare ones. Ornates, dels, laps, retros, ropes, and now endli. Biggest is my female ornate at about 18".

Runitits, your ornate will probably outgrow a CB endli. I'm pretty sure most of them max out around 16-18". My ornate took over 10 years to hit 18". I think she is still growing though.

Chub, I've always kept them with other fish, but when you have multiple bichirs, there are always some swimming around. All of my tanks are heavily planted as well, which I think makes a big difference in their activity level.

Whoa! Spencer :p. Yea I know my ornate should that's what's the teehee is for :p. But didn't know they maxed at that maybe I will get one..... :) yes 3/4 bichirs are in a small planted tank and they are much more active then my ornate. They move everywhere while my ornate hovers in one corner. Up in the column more then on the ground :p

My fish life is sparked up with Polys :)
