I've been dabbling in fish for over 10 years and i've gone to numerous area LFS looking for new and different fishies. Does anyone have opinions about this place in Salem, NH called:"Sea World, Pet Center"? I've gone there a few times back in 2000 and purchased some excellent Jaguar and Oscars, but haven't gone in a while and since moved to Haverhill, MA. LFS are almost non-existant here. Does anyone go there often enough to give me their assessment of the place. From the standpoint of fish quality, good equipment, etc. I'm just looking for a seocnd opinion i guess. Thx.

Hey, welcome to MFK. I'm actually from the same area as you. There are a couple of places you could check out...some are hit-or-miss though.

There's Zoo Creatures in Plaistow, NH off of Rte. 125...there's Precious Pets in Bradford (Haverhill) off of Rte 125...Sea World is ok, but VERY pricey.

If you don't mind traveling like 25 mins., there's Pet Quarters and Little Shop of Pets in Portsmouth, Pet City in Seabrook.

They are worth checking out every once and a while...sometimes you can get good deals, but to be honest, I would just join in on a group order and get something directly from the distributor...you'll save quite a bit of $$.

Yup the best way to save money is order from a the vendor with group order.

I totaly agree with sticky no kenyan

Sea World is mostly "bread and butter" fish and like everybody else said overpriced. Once or twice a year they get in some of the less common plecos and occasionally they have uncommon fish BUT they go fast. They have a LOT of people that go there for fish, so anything nice doesn't last long. Another couple of stores to check outare Pets Plus in Londonderry and Tewksbury, they have some decent fish but it's sporadic too and it's another place that isn't cheap but nowhere near as bad as Skiptons or SeaWorld. I've been VERY disappointed with ZooCreatures the last few times I've been there. They started out great with lots of rare fish for a good price bt they've dropped in quality and choice and GONE THROUGH THE ROOF in prices.

Definitely, keep your eyes on the vendor lists here. If there's something you want really badly, post up to do a group order. There's enough fish junkies around here you'll usually find somebody to split shipping with you. Talk to StickyRice about how to do a group order. He does so many, he's pretty much the local expert on getting them done.

I couldn't agree more. Kevin (the owner) is responsible for that. If you want to get good fish, you need to get on Franks good side...he does all the ordering.

I've got some pretty good deals there, you just really need to network that place in order to get the price you want.

Thinking to make another group order...Let go with N.E Cichlid? who's in? Last time We orginal have 8 in the first place, but end up with 4 members which is still a steal for shipping cost.

what you guys and gal think?
