I use a mag 950 pump on my python now. It doesn't waste water when I empty the tanks and makes emptying and filling so much faster.

Never thought of that, but I'd definitely like to give it a try and not waste all the water. How are you hooking your pump up? Got any photos of the setup?

I was able to get a perfect fit by chance because I had an extra Fluval rubber hose adapter (the piece that connects the ribbed tubing to the intake or outlet tube). I just screwed the rubber adapter right onto the mag drive outlet threading. The python hose can be easily pushed into the rubber by hand and pulled out again. These rubber things are very cheap and worth the investment if you have a mag pump. And then I put a sock over the intake because I don't have the foam anymore.

Thanks for the info!!! I don't have a Mag pump, but I've got an Eheim pump that's fairly similar. I'm going to see what I can monkey up tonight. :)
