hey sticky. im not gonna be able to get the sand. only because the gas money to get to lowell would be more than just gettin pool filter sand from a local pool place. oh well.

my next question....is any pool filter sand ok? or do i need anything specific? and it pool filter sand better than home depot "play sand"

and when i call to ask if they have pool filter sand are there any other questions that i should ask like grit size or mesh "something" lol

I've heard a lot of people say that pool sand is definitely better than play sand. No personal experience though. Just make sure you rinse it thouroughly before putting it in the tank.

Tommy >if you need worms come and get them..

I am going to do an order either twice a month or maybe just once a month for black worms so let me know how much worms you will need.I am sure my price is better then any store.

well my local pool place just said "ya we have pool filter sand" so i didnt know if there was like a certain kind i needed or to stay away from.

Does anyone know how long you can keep a batch of black worms alive?I have had mine now for a few weeks and no dead.I must be doing something right.

i rinse mine out once a day in cold water and they still smell when i open the container. so as of yesterday im not using them anymore.

I'm pretty sure you can keep them indefinately i think they multiply pretty quickly,if you google it there is alot of info, i know i buy them from my lfs and just throw them in my tank, they live for about a month before they're either eaten or siphoned they can live in your substrate,i always check under my tank with a flashlight so i can tell when i need to pickup more

I'm not sure how to judge the quantity/weight but I need about twice as much as you gave me last time once a week (the IT's love 'em just as much as the rays). I appreciate you letting me piggyback on your BW order, just let me know how much I should chip in. I spend at least $15/week on BW's from Tropic Isle. So far, you've beaten their price by a huge margin! ;)

lets get a meet going on somewhere..havnt been on for a while..anyone looking to buy a set of 2 leopard geckos(1 blizzard, 1 high yellowxorange)..with a ten gallon tank,2 lamps, with new bulbs, screen cover, and some excesories..75 o.b.o can meet somewhere in mass

You may have started out with poor quality worms. It's important that the water you rinse with is dechlorinated and not directly from the tap. The level of water shouldn't be more than an inch or so above the worms and the worms need to be spread out as opposed to all on top of each other. But if you're using them to feed your piranhas, you can get away with much cheaper non-live food.
