If anybody is interested, I have a FREE breeding pair of chocolate cichlids, Hypselacara temporalis. All I ask, is that you put them in at least a 75 gallon tank, that you come to pick them up and don't pick them up just to sell for a profit. I'm in Billerica, MA.
Nobody here keeps cichlids anymore? Female is currently fanning about 100 eggs.

I have:

One Current Orbit 4x96W PC light for $200, delivery included, bulbs included (two 6700k and two 50/50, each with about 3 months on them, Sealife brand)

One farlowella for $5, can be picked up at meeting. I'm breaking down my 50g so he and his buddy went into the 125 and his buddy got stuck in a very powerful powerhead. My power was out for 2 hours that night but I'm not sure if that was the cause and I don't want to endanger this guy too.

I'm also bringing a whole slew of duckweed and Malaysian trumpet snails. Large, large bag of duckweed $5, and $5 for 25 Malasian trumpets :)

Hey, I just spoke to Rich (current president of BAS) since I know he keep cichlids, and he said that while he didn't have a spot for them, he encourages you to bring a voucher or flyers to the meeting so that you can gauge interest without having to disturb the pair. That way, you can even have people bid on them (if you decide to put them up in the auction) or just send out feelers to the people there who don't use MFK or another site, and you don't have to worry about catching pissed off fishies :)

LMK if you have any questions!

our girls are on the same cycles, we need to do some pup exchanges, but my current litter expecting isn't from my marble (and i believe your male is marble and female of a nice pattern but not marble?) my female is a Peru captive breed(Mom and dad were wilds, bred in NY) & my male is a Columbian captive breed(Mom & dad wilds, also bred in NY but picked him up in CT). Both were from hobbyiest with like 240 tanks,,,,not breeders.

I have a mature male marble with my expecting female (no other tank mates) and after her litter, I'll wait out until they breed and I'm hoping a little while for her sake. But in the mean-time, I am looking for a 8-14'' female marble--most marbles being braught in by vendors seem to be males.

Both the female and male are marbled, although the male isn't as nice as the female. She is in my avatar. Their first pup is starting to show marbling now. She will be a nice looking ray I think. Both parents are wild caught.
