You're better off destroying the fish, I know that sounds bad, but it is better than foreign bacteria or other organism that may not affect the pumpkinseed but another native species or the food they feed on and then from there you can have a chain-reaction through out the ecosystem.

Eat it man. Those are really tasty.
 
awe thats all mean....i cant kill it. i wont release it. i dont kill animals..ill just keep him in with the other fish. i know he is hungry but he aint eating!!
 
is that a sun fish?
