Is it from THIS thread? DrsFosterSmith is a reputable dealer but I would try to get petco to match the price, like the one guy said.

Have Petsmart match the price and you will save the shipping cost.

calling them now to see, the problem is on the page where the price is there's a line through it saying please add item to cart to get special pricing. I'm just not sure if they'll match the price with the line through it.

If you add the item(s) to your cart and go to checkout maybe it will show you the real price. You're better off just showing up there with a printout and the weblink.

they're only matching from their own website...........

Not according to everyone in that thread I posted the link to. Still worth a visit with a printout I think.

Unsolidly IDed "blue-black shrimp" - $4 each, don't color up much until full grown.
Green shrimp (neocaridina sp. not the "dark green shrimp") - $2 each

Hammer coral frag (1 head each) - $10
Chaeto - $5 for a decent sized clump
Caulerpa prolifera - $5 for a foot or two worth of runners

Located in Lebanon, CT, also commute to West Hartford so could meet in that area as well.

I was just bumming around the thread so I could have overlooked this - I was reading all these messages pretty fast - but for all you new eel owners out there, be aware that THEY JUMP. We lost two peacocks that way, and the fire eel is the entire reason we have eggcrate on the 125g instead of just leaving it open in the summer.

Also, make sure you have a good number of hiding places - they really like to burrow, so if you have a substrate other than sand in there make sure you have a bunch of driftwood or pvc or whatnot. The unhappier they are in the tank, the more likely they are to carpet surf.

Finally, try feeding earthworms - now ours is ALWAYS out during feeding times, and like I said he handfeeds. He snatches the wormies right out of my fingers to the point where whoever gets him will probably start to need to use forceps. Fingers look an awful lot like worms ;)
