im really looking for a good place to get black sand or black gravel that will actually look real nice in a new 55 gallon. also looking for a nice centerpiece for it that piranhas will like as well. thanks for any help guy. there was this add on Clist for a setup and the guy had black stones that look like lake rocks. i cant find it now for a reference. cant remember if it was in nh, ma, ct, ri lol. i look at all them so much haha

Petsmart sells black sand but it is around 20 dollars a bag. It is a little heavier than actual sand so it does not get sucked up the filters as easy.

If you ever go with sand stay away from home depote sand...it's a pain to clean and it will get suck up into your filter. Best bet are pool filter sand although it only have one color.

or petsmart...

speaking of sand I still got a full cooler of "pool filter sand" a 50lbs bag of pool filter for free. come and get it. bring your own cooler or bucket.

here is how the sand look like in my tank...

Free to a good home - 5-6" Managuense. My friend bought one for his 65gal without having any idea what it was. I've convinced him to get rid of it, since he wants more than one fish in the tank. Not sure if its a male or a female. He is located south of Boston, and it will most likely be a pickup since he doesn't know the first thing about shipping fish. Send me a PM if interested and I'll hook you guys up.

sploke do you have any picture?
