So how did the Auction go? I didnt get out of work till 7, and wouldnt of made it till 9. What time did it end up getting over at?

The auction was crazy, there must have been 200 bags of fish up for auction and it was amazing how many went for less than 5 dollars. I got a bag of 6 juvie bristlenose plecos for 5 bucks and they are a cross between Black Longfin and Albino shortfin. Very unique looking. I got plants for pennies on the dollar of what you pay at stores and there was free pizza and sodas. I also auctioned off some fish so I got money back. The Spiny Monster pleco has a new home! There were some amazing fish for auction including some real monsters. The auction didn't end until about midnight but it was worth it. The people were cool, I met some more MFK'ers I'd never seen before and a fun time was had by all. Thanks to AJ for driving. Definitely an event I will try to make everytime.

Nope, I'm not a member.

Hey do you have to be a member to go to one of those auctions cuz if not Im thinking about making the trip down next time.

Nope, you don't have to be a member, at all. At $15/year, it's cheap to be a member, but not required.

One of the member perks is that every year there's a killifish raffle. The fish are free and all current paid members' names are in the pot. The raffle is picked during the buck-a-bag auction...so last night. I've won some in the past.

The speaker for August will be talking on Asian catfish.

Man sounds like I missed out big time. Ill def try and make the next one.
Were there any fish that sold for good money?

By "good money", do you mean at or more than LFS price? If so, then no...not by a long shot. One of my fish was one of the most expensive bags to sell. It was a gorgeous full-grown male Aulonocara Stuartgranti "German Red". He went for $18. :( That's decent for a club auction, but well below what that fish would have sold retail.

There was a lot with several breeding pairs of German Blue Rams that sold for somewhere in the vicinity of $30 and a killer pair of breeding Angels that sold for ~$40 one of them looked a little like the one in your avatar but not quite as big.

you should have seen the 12 inch datnoids that also went for five dollars.just teasing sticky.

Last night was very fun,its nice to meet such friendly MFKers.

my 12 gallon plant tank sold for 35.00,thats not bad for a club auction.

I bought some kick ass plants, pics to come.
