keep you temp always in the 80f or so...the higher temp the more they will eat and active. you need to change the diet often to see what food they like and doesn't like.

they need 3 time meal a day at that size.
 
I posted this in its own thread, but figured I'd add it here also. I have a managuense cichlid, about 4-5", free to anyone who'd want to pick it up.

I'm in South Boston.

Great looking fish! Water is very clear too with the AC. How often do you see them flashing or rubbing?

it comes in waves...like they will do it 2x then thats it. and not all of them either. i think like 2 of them do it. sometimes they will do it a bunch of times...but its not all day. do you really think that they look good?

Hell yeah, setup looks good too! I'm not saying there's defninitely nothing wrong with them but they look good to me.
 
try cricktes n float some plants on top of the tank my guy use to love shrimp pellets and guppies my butterfly*
