Oh crap. I use a fluval 404 intake screen, fits on a python. I've got an extra one you can have.

Damn that sucks, all my fish are scared of the Python when Im cleaning, an alotve the time I leave it in there to suck out a certain amount of water.

Oh hon...sorry to hear that. I've been there, done that before, with a goldie rather than one of my polys. It was an oranda, and her wen ruptured all over. She survived and was fine, actually. But, I felt unbelievably guilty. I now put a large media bag over my python when I clean tanks. I've been super careful to make sure it's on the python on the poly tank...I've been afraid of what happened to you.

I had a large oranda get stuck in my python; it ripped off a complete circle of scales.

Now, since I have blind goldfish, I always just sit in front of the tank and watch while doing water changes.
