I'm thinking of doing Malawi tank. I had my 55 set up as one before and loved it. The look, the action, the breeding just everything was awesome in that tank. Otherwise what can I put in a 135 with a 48" width that'll give me similar levels of activity?

Tough to match the kind of action those cichlids provide with breeding and all. I could picture a small school of native fish like some pumpkinseed sunfish or bluegills looking good in there but I gotta say, rays all the way! They move a lot, they breed, they're just awesome! You can get some reticulatas for pretty cheap too. Then maybe some Datnoids to fill the mid-level...ok now I'm just describing my own dream tank.

Went fishing on friday with sticky and mspoly. We didn't catch anything but had a great time. Then I did some work on filtration for my tanks...now I have a fluval 405 and a wet/dry on my ray tank. I haven't gotten around to posting my 55g for sale on craigslist yet, so last call: 55g with lighted hood, black stand, fluval 404 filter for $150!!

That's cool, I havent been fishing in 2 years What size wet/dry are you running? I hope to be turning a spare 55 into a sump sometime soon. Still have to see how well it will fit under the stand tho.
