anyone ever been to beacon aquarium in worc?

Yup, Jose, who runs the place is a super nice guy...very heavily involved in the Worcester Aquarium Society. He's heavily stocked in Africans...always has oodles of fish spawning in his tanks. Generally has some of the rarer Tropheus species in stock. Not a big store, but Jose knows his stuff. He's an absolute wealth of African knowledge.

is a 30 gallon a good grow out tank for a fire eel?

Maybe good for a 6-month growout period. I'm not sure how fast they grow but I've heard of them reaching 2 feet in a year. I guess it depends on how much you feed it and how good your water is. I know plenty of people here have owned fire eels, they can probably give you better advice, joey, AJ, mspoly?

I don't control my website. So when my friend updates it i will let you know. And i have here. molly.swords.plats, u common stuff and some very larger Parrots.. FH oscars, peacock bass, RTC/TSN crosses.. green terrors. sevrums, discus Rams. ang's.. um and goldfish/koi..

Thank you.

Our fire eel is in the 125 with all the fish I've already listed. He didn't grow that fast, but we also don't specifically spot feed him all that often. That could probably make a difference in the growth rate.

I also wouldn't put one in anything less than a 55g personally, but that could just be personal opinion since I've only seen them in much bigger tanks.

Bumpy
Sea World Pet in Salem, NH had some fire eels last week not sure if they still do.
30 gal could be a grow out,,remember they are sensitive fish,,,,,,but you should only grow out if you have another tank ready for them to go into in the future,,,,,,,,,I see too many times people buying fish that get large and say they'll get a bigger tank later and it doesn't happen, then they gotta dump the fish and will never get what it is worth for it.

STAY AWAY from impulse buying.
