Thanks Outh. If I were getting them for pets, I'd jump on those but it's a little pricey at $5 each plus shipping.

If you need ramshorns let me know - I could probably send you a jar of 100 or so to get you started, both ramshorns and pond snails.

I appreciate the offer but I'm trying to avoid pond snails, they stay too small and I'm afraid that once my fahaka gets bigger he'll ignore them and I'll have a tank full of them.

Sorry I can't take the tank off your hands, I'm in serious down-low mode right now. I'll definitley buy some ramshorns off of you though. Just need to work out logistics. I'm going to see if anybody else local wants any of your stuff, so we can do a trip to Boston and carpool down.

Thats fine, they're easy enough to separate, I can give you ramshorns only if you'd prefer. I have a lot more of them anyway.

i was actually thinking of using snails from a pond in my neighborhood to feed my fish, but was worried about disease/parasites... Is there any way to prevent that??

Oh, and I have the worst luck when it comes to keeping snails.... I can't keep one alive for longer than a month, so breeding my own is out of the question...
