I'm not really sure, I've been told several different things. they look exactly like this fish pictured:

Those are leptobarbus hoevenii for sure. I've got one that's about 16" and two around 6". Sometimes they're called mad barbs or cigar sharks

They grew from 2" to 6" within a few months, but from there, they slowed down a lot. They've probably been 6" now for the past three months... I bought my big one three years ago at around 12", and it's only grown a few inches since then... But they supposedly live 8-12 years and can get up to 3'
