  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Very addition. If you wanna mix it without stressing the fish, do it while doing water change. I stir my sand like crazy to remove any gas that got trap in the bottom. Non of my fish gets stress. Then over time they are mixed well.

Your bichirs fart in the sand? If you stir then wouldn't you have to wait 20mins for the sand to settle down before running the filter?

Yep they use the sand as fish litter. lol! I'm running a sump so it's not a problem plus once beneficial bacteria settled in the sand it won't take 20 minutes to clear. Mine just take 1-2 minutes and water is back to crystal clear.

Or you can add a stingray and it will do the job for you. Or maybe a ripsaw catfish as they like to vacuum the substrates and mixing them along the way.

I don't like to mess with sand cuz it'll get into anything that it comes in close contact with. I prefer smaller grain gravels.

3M color quartz are not really that messy that's why I like them. I don't like gravels as I lost to many bichirs to gravels even about the size of rice.

Too bad 3M stop the production of color quartz. So for you guys who wants to get them, get them now as they are now in limited numbers. As soon as those distributors runs out, they won't be anymore.

oh dam and thanks all and no its not a platinum senegal
