be prepared to get addicted and spend alot. those guys doing those speeds have gx390 honda engines(13hp stock) bored out as well as copius amounts of other work. Getting to the 50 mph or so mark aint hard(and that already is AWESOME) but pushing past that can take a ton of work and money. 10hp or so with the proper gearing and tires can get u to 50 mph or so. A brand new 6.5hp honda clone is only 100 bucks with plenty of performance parts available for them.

lol. that it is. thats what so fun about it. super small package going 50mph. My gearing in my new one should let me hit 30mph or so. im changing the gearing shorty 
the new gearing should let me hit 45 or so.
BTW just saw a brand new modded clone engine with right around 15hp for 600 bucks i think. A bit much for someone just getting in, but just figure id let u know. Look into a 5hp briggs or 6.5hp clone. Readily availabe parts and very easy to mod. Ull have a TON of fun
