Just picked up this new female midevil! Proven female she has laid eggs before! Just got her from my lfs plus she has a nice big head I plan to try and breed her with my male

Thanks! I've bred smaller cichlids before but never larger ones so it will be a new experience.

Make sure you have a good tank divider or a spare tank if/when the male whoops on her.

Tank is divided and all is well. She appears to have a little bit of HITH I just saw :( she was in a 15-20 gallon at the lfs and they said they had her forever like longer than 6 months. So now she is in my tank divided with my male hope this isn't an issue she is really nice. I plan to do 50% waterchanges every 3-4 days and see if it improves. If not am I screwed? Will she live fine with it?

She should be fine, just keep up the water changes and she should heal up in no time. There was a 14"+ oscar at my lfs that had just been handed in, he literally had craters in his head but after a couple of weeks of good clean water he had healed alot, it eventually healed completely but left some scarring.
