Just traded in my smaller male Dovii, 2 smaller Jaguars, and my 2 smallest Jack Dempseys and got these little gems....they were listed as "False Red Terror" but I noticed 3 of the 5 were peeling and 2 had a spot on the upper portion of the tail so the 1st thing I said was Festae and John, a former coworker and friend of mine confirmed it, and he also believed they were labeled incorrectly. $45 of trade-ins

Are these really Festae or do Midas have the same spotting on the upper portion of the tail?

If they weren't peeling like that, I'd say they looked liked tiny chanchosand. I'm guessing they are not festae, or at least not 100% pure festae.

Frank, midevil can look super similar to Festae when they are young. My LFS has a batch of them that look identical to Festae, I'd be fooled if I didn't watch them get scooped out of the tank with their parents. The next batch was even worse because they where midas-mayan hybrids. :'(

These are definitely not Festae, and are some sort of Amphilophus. Unfortunately, since they were labeled as festae/red terror/false red terror, and are clearly not Mayaheros Festae, it would be best to label them as "Midevils" due to the fact that they are more than likely a hybrid within the Amphilophus genus

ps-you're going to enjoy the peeling process, it's awesome to keep track of :D
