new festaes and trimacs

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
they look good< but I wouldn't leave the Festae in there very long,The cuban and the tri's will quickly outgrow them and are much more agressive when juvi's

thanks, I will keep that in mind. I'd like to get another 55 set up with a divider for the trimacs and festaes til they reach about 8" or so a piece. Probably a little smaller than that. Hoping to get a pair out of the cubans, trimacs, and festaes and give them their own breeding tanks here when they get a little bigger and i can sex them.

On a different note - Do trimacs typically have much red in thier fins as juvies?

I can't say for sure but i don't believe so.Ive only kept one and it was many yrs ago

the LFS I got them from is fairly knowledgeable. I asked if he could get in trimacs and he said he knew a local breeder of 'pure' trimacs. He referred to the flowerhorns as 'crap'. So that made me feel pretty good.

yeah not a bad place. They had some haitiens in there a couple days ago when i went to order my trimacs and festaes. they can order almost anything.
