New fh, thoughts?

Chill down, dude..
Well, for one, your flowerhorn has black dots on it's dorsal fin.. while this might not necessarily determine your flowerhorn sex, it's almost 60~70% accurate..
Best way is to vent your fish.. if the vent looks like the letter U, then it's a she.. if it resembles the letter V, then it's a he..

haha, i know. I thought the same when I got it home. Been trying so long now to get a male but without dropping 100 plus on it. Had a couple before, both female, had a thai silk and got sick and died on me, now this guy.

Also, how big do they need to be to vent them? This guy is only 1.5" or so.

Gaaaarrrrrrr!!!! Female...what are the signs you are seeing that it might be female?

The head shape as well as the dorsal spot are good signs.... the dragon tears are beautiful.... i say female ZZ... i will also bet she will fade to an yellow-red color and lose all her markings.... goodluck!

Yeah, female ZZ.. same as mine but mine has no dragon tears.. Nice fish..
