Where did you come up with that the pump output is 975 gph?
 
So you spent an extra $125 to get the extra 50 GPH, and now have found that it doesnt have more flow then a FX5? Thats money well spent, well at least you got some cool knobs.
 
I don't see reason to buying used gear for my tanks so i bought it brand new for efficiency and it's 3 year warranty. Considering a brand new FX5 goes for 299.99 plus tax around here I think I did pretty well for an FX6. Not to mention its working flawlessly as my tank is crystal clear, one thing my 100g sump couldent do by itself. Also when having several thousand dollars invested in fish alone, I felt the purchase was neccessary.
