new fish! (and my first monsters!) lots of pics

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
hey there, I'm new to the site :D
I have three of the senegals my self !
In a 29 gallon with a jack, a firemouth and a Chocolate pleco
As far as nocturnal goes, it depends on who they're bunking with. With my south americans they swim all around...But the largest of the three I just took out of my brothers african cichlad tank, and we rarely saw him in there...He got his a** kicked.
You will love the bichers, wait till you give them feeders.

cool, well so far they haven't eaten my small rainbowfish and bala shark, although they have snapped at the bala shark. I guess my smaller fish are too fast. and they like my plecos, maybe their skin is the same texture?
more pics coming guys! just have to upload them later today.

one question, do bichers jump? I have a lid on the tank and am going to build a wooden canopy, but if they jump I'll put more weight on the top.
they don't look like jumping fish...

I am just a new bichir owner like you..i have a few months on you.. when i got mine they told me the one thing to do was cover every hole or space that was open on the top of the tank because if theres a way they will excape.. so i do not know if they jump but they certainly manuver somehow..because many of them are lost this way.. of course they can breathe for awhile out of water..as long as their gills don't get dry.. so some are found in time.. i just taped up all the openings with duck tape. So this is a MUST DO!
