New fish at walmart!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
im also pretty amazed that walmart near you sells prime... but they have always had lots of oscars, clown knives and pacu which are perfect for their super huge 20 gallon setups......

blah

i'm surprise........ My walmart has nothing.. except a few oscar, and some pacu... I have never seen a knife or a fancy pleco in there..

Is it just me or do all the convenience stores around me actually take care of their fish?

Besides a few misleading labels, I have found the outlets to be viable sources of fauna.

I was at my local walmart picking up some more prime when I saw another type of fish in with the oscars. It was a clown knife fish!!! They were about 2inches and there was 2 left. They were both dead though...

I saw them too but they weren't dead at my walmart

The walmart near me had fish a bit ago( they no longer sell fish) and I was surprised about the care they put in them. The staff knew nothing about the fish, but they did do water changes surprisingly. The tanks were clean of algae. I never saw what the water chemistry was like, but I rarely had any deaths from the fish I bought from walmart. I still have about 40 or so kicking around. I lost 2 corydoras out of 42 fish I bought from walmart. So pretty good in my mind. Mind you, they did not have oscars or anything like that at the walmarts here. Just goldfish, guppies, convicts, catfish, etc. I still have a bala shark ( I know its not a shark) from walmart, lol. He's bigger than the ones I bought from pets unlimited around the same time.

Point of my story, it was a good surprise I got from Walmart. I know its just a fluke and most Walmart probably don't give to **** about the fish, but this one was pretty good.
The employees did not like caring for the fish, but they did a good job. Also, most of the fish were like 50 cents by the end of it which was awesome, lol
