new fish down the sink

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The closest I've come is a zebra danio which jumped in the sink. It missed the drain, and is now trapped in my tank for all eternity.

LOL

Bettas are pretty tough fish. I am glad yours is doing well after his plumbing trip!
they have to be to survive as LFS have them :screwy:

i used to have a largemouth bass in a 20 gallon when i was new and i was trying to handfeed him a live minnow and he shot like a torpedo and hit the worm.....but he didnt stop.....and jumped on my friend emma and she freaked out lol he made it for several years (he died after eating a crayfish that was in a neighbors aquarium but he didnt take care of it that good and didnt feed it and such so i think it was toxic of sumthing...) at that time he was 8 inches long lol after that emma never came near the aquarium during feeding time :D

Actually your crayfish wasnt toxic, your bass died of stunted problems, in case you dont know that.

two of the three giant danio I have jumped out of the 50/50 acclimation tank I had them in while transferring them to another tank i feel bad but they were eating in the new tank 3 hours later

I don't do bettas, but I've learned to close off the sink before pouring out water. I do this each time I get a new fish and want as little cross contamination from store tank water as possible. This way, if he gets into the sink, just net him back!

they live in puddles in the wild, in their native form

Glad that turned out okay!

That's sadly true, i was at petsmart the other day and half their bettas were half dead, cut up fins, just lying in the corner in their own filth waiting to die it seemed.

Not to mention their tank is barly 5"x5"x5"

This happened to my mom a few years ago, the betta jumped out of it's bowl and straight into the garbage disposal. We fished him out though and he was no worse for the wear. They're tough little buggers.
