Nice transformation, who knows that your ugly Zz FH turn into a very gorgeous Fader...:D congrats..:)
 
do u think the black substrate had anything to do with that coz even i bought a fh here in india that looks like the one in ur first pic (u can see in one of my threads) and i have it with white substrate and a coral background which is kinda bringing out the red in it....

if its a fader u can use a black background and red/black/yellow substrate
if its not use a multicoloured one. the fading is in the genes{red devil/midas cichlid} nothing to do with substrates. i remember ur thread. this is a complete surprise for me b'cos i have already three faders which were black when i bought them. this is the first one that was green in colour and completely changed it's colour. i got it for 200 rupees out of 30 fishes in a super market aquarium.
