Yeah they don't bother each other much. If ne thing the hybrid picks on the mbuna. But my mbuna might die. Had a little mishap yesterday. My filter stopped and I was working on it and changed the intake tube. And when I turned it back on he swam up to it and got sucked up. I turned it off and got him off the impeller but he hasn't acted right since. He is not as hyper as he was and has a little damage from it here and there. He swims around slowly but sits n one spot most of the time. Its sad. I dunno what to do for him. I hope he pulls threw tho. I'm fixing to do a 25% water change and put a little medicine n there. See if it helps ne

Nah he didn't make it. He was flopping on his side and breathing weird. Had some messed up spots on his gills and body. I didn't want to see him suffer so I put him in some ice cold water and then in freezer. Pretty much killed him instantly. Better than suffering. The hybrid is doing wrell tho and the new tank mate is also doing well as far as I know. Been at work and not checked on them yet

Yep everything so far so good. I plan on getting one or 2 more fish this weekend. The yellow fish with the black that runs across the top of the dorsal fin. And maybe something else. Just not sure what. On and a mess cleaner upper. Trying to find a nice bottom feeder. Don't wanna just snatch up some plain jane pleco. If neone has suggestions feel free to tell me. Nothing expensive tho. I'm to new to the game to spend a lot of money on a fish.

Kinda makes me mad that the one was advertised as a ruby red (which I assumed was full blooded) and turns out to be some sort of hybrid.

ruby reds are hybrids, and yours looks like one. his color is pale because of the light rocks... add black or other dark gravel and he'll color up real nice! btw, many of the 'fancy' peacocks are hybrids, so unless you know your stuff or it has a location on it, assume it's a hybrid

the "yellow one with the stripe on it's dorsal fin" is most likely a lab cichlid. a good catfish for a cichlid tank like yours would be any of the synodontis that stay around 7" or less. my personal favorite is the featherfin synodontis (google images search it)! before you get any more fish though, put a cover on the intake of your filter, and do your research on the fish you want. all of them can be found on a google search! some cichlids take different care than others, such as haps (carnivores) and mbuna (herbivores) and they all come from the same lake.

sorry for the essay, and good luck!!
