New Fish ID

I just got this fish at my LFS they sold it to me as a black belly cichlid. Im guessing its some sorta Vieja right? Also do you guys know the sex?

Most likely Paratheraps synspilium. Too small yet to sex.

Depends on lots of variables. Average cichlid growth. Not super fast, but not too slow.

With the black belly is anyone else thing Vieja melanurus?

Those two species (synspilum, melanurus) are very similar in my opinion.

When I first opened this thread That was what came to my mind.. Though Only seeing Syns in person... I would not know... Si melanurus more elongated than Syns?
