Though it takes a while, menerambo get as big as dinner plates, and have some thickness to match. You should plan on a serious upgrade if ou plan on keeping them long term.
They do best in groups, and a quintet will require a tank over 150 gallons.
The one below hit 14" in about 2 years, he and his other 4 com-padres outgrew my 150 gal at that point.


Dont worry I will move mine to my 180 as soon as the cats are gone...just wondering, can they get along with other fish?

It's a long term commitment raising any Paretroplus but well worth it IMO.
 
Indeed, I have had mine for over 12 years. They still look healthy as younger Paretroplus do, so I presume they can live close to 20 years but don't quote me on that.
