Fish can definitely be stubborn sometimes lol. It did seem a little rounder than that. I know peas work for goldfish, can I try them on those to see if it helps?

Honestly IMO you should just skip feeding for a day or two, won’t kill them but it will let him pass whatever is in his system. If that doesn’t help then yeah you can try some peas.
That was fun to read. I like this kind of stuff. I’m in a similar boat but I am now taking care of numerous different tanks and now starting to even get paid for it.
