just arrived from tucson.. and i've been on the cichlid lover alan bliven's house..from whom i got 5 aulonocranus dewindi and 3 neolamprologus caudopunctatus.

i just ''acclimatated'' them and introduce them into my 55g tank.. where the only inhabitants are 2 yellow calvus and 2 common plecos.

i am really surprise by the dewindi....because 4 been a featherfin cichlid, they are pretty thought to handdle 4hr ride home and to acclimatate very fast on the new tank... and are already eating:headbang2

the other surprise where the caudopunk..who really don't look well...:( they seem to acclimatated very slow..and looks like when the calvus change tanks...breathing heavily and just sitting in the bottom... I'm really worried...:irked:

if some one has keep'em or has experience on these species please share or pics or info...:grinno:

when i get a cam i'll take pics.. but just have the need to show my joy...:nilly:

hmmm calvus should be fine..though they do get a bit fritzed out when moved around....we keep ours with dwindti too with no problems.....try a bit of frozen fresh brine shrimp.....that should entice em a bit...but dont over feed tooo much tooo soon

ohh yes..calvus isn't the problem.. i have'em since like 8 month ago..and have change them from one tank to another twice... so it was more like a reference to tell how did the caudopunks look like in a new enviorment.

the calvus are the ones that are messing up with the caudos and the dewindti, but don't think this las long...cause in no time i think they overgrow calvus... :)

forzen brine shrimp for aulonocranus too..? or more spirulina flakes..?

one thing about dwindti... they really do better in long tanks...because they are so dern speedy ....i take it yours arnt very large and your not breeding them?
you should see what happens when they breed!....lightning fast!

do you have shells in the tank? various sizes can help those cauds out...and the calvus as well....keep em occupied on something else..:D

well have some shells in the tank..but at the moment nor the calvus nor the caudos have paid attentionto'em

and i ask if brine was ok because almost all featherfins require spirulina...and in some profiles it say protein and in others vegetals..and don't know what tha base food shoul be3
