well, this story is kinda long.. and there won't be pics till tomorrow night..
i got a pretty cool deal.. got a nice little cichla, an ornate bicher (don't know if i spelled that right or not), and a wolf fish..
now i've never had a bicher or a wolf fish before, so i asked and i checked some websites for info.. and basically what i got out of it was that the bicher would be fine in any of my tanks, and that the wolf fish will bite any other fish in his tank if i don't feed EVERY day.. and i don't feed any but the tiniest cichla every day.
so i get the oddball crew home and i cloned the 29 gallon tank from the 150 (it needed a water change anyway), aclimated the wolf fish..
did the water change on the 150 (where i have a happy couple of cichla pretending to spawn), put the castle ornament back in with some plants to give the new cichla and the bicher something to hide in. Moved Kabota back to Lucy's tank, started to do the aclimation for the cichla and the bicher and noticed that the cichla is HALF the size of my little brat ocellaris gang..
we decided at that point to put the bicher in with the ocellaris, and immediatedly realized that it was a mistake, the bicher is far too small to there with them also..
SO.. we dropped the new cichla in with my orinos who are very close to the same size.. no big deal, i can always find a place for cichla.. lol. the bicher is another issue.
i was concerned that the bicher might be able to eat my baby snooks.. so i moved the baby snooks to the baby cichla/angelfish tank (or tried, we only successfully moved one of the 3) and we put the bicher in with the grown up angelfish, because he can't hurt anyone there and no one can hurt him. AND.. it's my most stable and cleanest running tank.
i'll get the other snooks out later.. my son chasing them around got them all riled up and they were NOT going to be caught.. i don't usually have trouble moving my fish around when i need to.
while we were moving things around in the big angelfish tank, we made a discovery. for months, maybe even a year, we've believed that all of the electric blue crayfish were dead, we were WRONG.. there is a nice healthy 3" crayfish still in the angelfish tank.. lol.
ok.. tomorrow after everybody is settled and fed there will be pics of the newbies.. and some new pics of the oldies...
