New fish!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
She? So you think it's a female? I was just guessing male from the nuchal hump and the pointed fins. That's a shame as I was hoping it would keep the orange.

It will keep most if not all of the orange. Most tank bred amph lines morph at very small sizes. You may see small differences in color depending on it's mood, health, lighting, etc, but it should look very similar to that for the rest of it's life.

Glad to hear it, I've always loved the koi coloured midas/midevils so glad to hear he should stay this way.

It's a great looking fish. You can't really sex most colored amphilophus types accurately by looks. I've had females with large humps, males with no humps, pointy fins, etc. Venting or seeing the fish during breeding is the only real way to know for sure.

Me, too.

Now, if it won't breed for you, and you're ready to give it away (like the Dovii), please let me know ;)

The difference with the dovii was that he didn't tolerate tank mates (female or male) and needed a huge tank to himself.. This guy seems to like company!

....or just sizing everybody up, and patiently planning total dominance of the tank

Either way, I have another tank he can go into if he doesn't play nice and the fact that he came from a much smaller tank full of tank mates gives me hope.
