new fish

just bought 3 convicts 2 female 1 male. after i let them sit in the water for 15 mins i let them in and ever since theyve been sitting at the bottom? any clue why?
also anyone know how long till they start breeding and how i can make it more comfortable for them to start?

First thing to do. And a MUST. Remove 1 female. Remove the less colourful female because prettier always looks better.
How big is the tank? Small convicts (1'-3") can spawn in a 20G min, but large ones (3"-6") need 30G min.

Mine bred after 3 hours of meeting eachother. But it depends on the fish when they breed. However, most convicts spawn every 2-3 weeks after the 1st spawn.

Your ones are hiding on the bottom due to being afriad, and they are just adjusting to thier new environment. To help them come out, add some small tetras and or danios as 'dither' fish to entice them to come out some more.

the tanks 30 gallons and i cant remove one sadly i have no other tanks. and other tips? there all by eatchother on the bottom on the tank is this normal? haha sorry ive never dealt with any kind of breeding.

Get rid of one of the females, take it back to the fish store or something as she will most likely get beat up on by the other two when they pair. You could try to add as many caves as possible if you wont get rid of her but she will most likely get beat on.

yeah there hurting her i put a pot on the other side of the tank because its stuck over there and they wont let it swim anywhere else since im only 16 and dont have a car i dont really have the choice of bring it back any time soon any more tips?
