Forgot to mention, LFS gave me some Platies...this will be the only time I am feeding live as I am not sure how long this little guy has gone without eating. Once I see him eat, I will remove the leftovers and try to wean him on frozen.

My FW flounder died today... not sure why, but probably due to starvation. I had him for 2-3 months and never saw him eat. Tried a variety of diets and techniques.
I was thinking of adding another tankmate to the tank given the passing of the flounder. Anybody has any suggestions?
Would another Florida be better or a bichir?

All FW flounders I know of are brakish water fish, might want to research that to be sure, but if it was BW that may explain why it did not eat. Some BW fish, due to stress, may not eat when in FW.
Either Bichir or Gar will be fine, my dad always comments on my tank and the harmony the fish exibit. The tank has 3 large Gars and 2 large Bichirs, all five fish are on par with each other as far as size goes, and that is the key to preditory fish, keep the size similar.
