New Fluval Filters G3 and G6

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I believe the filter is going to filter VERY well for smaller tanks since you need some circulation in the tank to keep the debris suspended long enough to be picked up.

Pleated cartridges, at least the ones that I have seen filter very small particles out which I why I think this filter will perform extremely well on smaller tanks. 55 gallons and under for the largest G series filter. I have a 600GPH Fx5 on my 55 gallon tank.

The bio media area seems to be fairly large for the size tanks its put on.

Spending $500 for a filter on a 55 gallon tank does not make me happy especially when it has features I will never use.

You know people will buy it. Gotta have the Bling for the aquarium owners too

:bling:

I use FX5's. For the price (~$200 on EBay) I don't think you can beat them. That said, if I was on the market for a high end filter atm I'd be going with Eheim if the FX5 wasn't available, rather than this over priced contraption.

poor product release giving the current economic situation. I've never seen these in an LFS--I imagine very limited sales. The FX-5 rocks!

im getting a 36x18x18 sump including pipe work, 2 eheim compact 5000 pumps and delivery for roughly the same price as the G6 when its all added up.
granted that doesnt include media but the media i have bought to fill the sump has cost me about £30 and will likely not need to be replaced inside the next 3 years.

far more GPH, cheaper media and larger media area for roughly the same coin as a G6 is a no brainer for me.
