Hi guys. I just bought a used FX5 brought it home and plugged it in and it leaks BADLY from under the lid. I took it apart and put it back together a few times, same problem. Any suggestions on what may be wrong? It leaks something like 1GPM. HUGE leak. Thanks.

The bottom of one of the twisty lid fastener things had cracked. (just that little orange cylinder thing) I glued it back together with some super glue. Gotta wait a few hours for it to cure. I doubt it was the problem but I'll give it a shot.

Thanks to everyone who replied. I went to my LFS today and picked up a new fastener and Oring. Mission accomplished, works like a champ now. :)

Might wanna replace that crack orange screw thing. When I was cleaning my fx5 and broke one of those thing, I thought it'll be ok. Bad idea, plugged it in and the filter was gushing water out from where it was missing the screw. Just in case the glue fail and your not home... You'll be screwed. It's only like $7 to replace it.

Thanks for your concern but in the post above it says I bought a new fastener. The glue couldn't even hold long enough to attach it.
